- Go to LIST MAINTENANCE > NCOA Processing > Import and Queue Maintenance > Clear NCOA Response Queue and click Yes to confirm you want to delete existing items from the processing queue. (We recommend that you clear the queue to prevent the buildup of any obsolete items.) You will see the message, Deletion of existing queue items completed when this is done.
- Click Import NCOA Response Spreadsheet.
- On the Import NCOA Responses from Excel Spreadsheet dialog, click Open Spreadsheet. Navigate to the spreadsheet containing the NCOA vendor data and double-click the file name to be read and imported in the processing queue.
- When you see the message, Reading of Excel Spreadsheet completed, click OK. You may see notes about the data in the scrollable pane on the dialog. Typically, these notes indicate issues that will cause individual items to be ignored during processing, such as:
Move Effective Date is after last process—The date when the address change goes into effect is later than the date when the last NCOA input processing was done.
Invalid Status—The voter's registration status does not permit third-party address changes. Usually, this means the voter's status is I (Inactive) or P (Ineligible).
Precinct Override set for this voter—The voter is assigned to vote in a precinct or city other than their normal one. Changing their address could affect the precinct override, so any change must be done manually, outside the input processing program.
- You can print the list of notes by clicking Print Errors. If you want to modify the spreadsheet based on any notes, make your changes, save the updated spreadsheet, and repeat this procedure from step 1.
- Click Cancel to exit the dialog.
The NCOA items are now loaded in the processing queue and are ready for processing of the ZIP+4 and no-forwarding-address changes.
